ohhhh you clever monkey goro! :D something feels to clean about the animation... maybe if there was just a hint of anti-aliasing to just soften the edges. it feel like a 60hz LCD HDTV right now, dope idea though :) so clever and use of inspiration!

It almost looks like you used maya nCloth to make the dress, can you explain your process of animating it?

It was actually intended to be as clean as possible.
I wanted it to stick out of the painting a bit otherwise it would look like a standard hand animated gif animation. Wanted to do something new.

Bingo! It is indeed maya ncloth both for the dress and the hair, rendered and composed in after effects, exported back into photoshop to create the gif. Good observation :D
